An Electrical Test is used to analyse the electrical parameters of every pin to pin. Examples include current, voltages, diode resistivity, and silicon connectivity.
Also known as a Curve Trace Test, this is a very strong tool which allows Retronix test experts, to detect whether a device is defective or not. Defects that can be detected using an Electrical Test include:
An Electrical Test can also be used in cases where components have been reclaimed from boards to confirm if they are still in good working condition. There are two variations of our Retronix Electrical Test Service, Powered and Un-Powered.
Powered Electrical Test
Powered testing is a more detailed variant of the electrical test. Our in-house experts apply up to 4 voltages to a device and place it in active mode, testing each pin of the device accordingly. This also allows us to send signals into each device to replicate certain operating conditions. The electronic component test is a very powerful anti-counterfeit tool, and it is equally effective in testing genuine but faulty devices.
Un-Powered Electrical Test
This variant of the test does not add any stimulus to the device. Effectively the device is not switched on however, we are still able to detect the majority of defects. Unpowered electrical testing is quick and excellent method to identify a ‘good’ device for comparison functions.
